Salhouse Broad is our low impact, back to basics campsite set on the water’s edge in the Norfolk Broads. For those who are looking for a tranquil place to relax from the rush of modern day living, we are the ideal retreat.
Camping at Salhouse Broad is an enjoyable experience. After exploring the area you can return to your tent, light a fire and enjoy gazing at the stars. On site facilities include:
Basic toilet block.
As well as camping facilities, we also have 5 separate mooring areas. All prices include drinking water. If you use a mooring without direct access to the water pipes or bins, you can head to Moorings 1 or 2 to make use of these either before or after your stay. These include:
Salhouse Broad Moorings 1 and 2: These stern-on moorings are at the eastern end of the Broad. There is a footpath from here to Salhouse village, with local amenities and public transport to Wroxham and Norwich. Rubbish facilities and fresh water are available at these moorings.
Salhouse Broad Moorings 3: This is a small, stern-on mooring tucked away at the western end of Salhouse Broad. You can still access the village and rubbish facilities, but there is no fresh water available here.
Salhouse Island: side-on moorings between the River Bure and Salhouse Broad. There is no access to land, rubbish or water facilities from these moorings.
Salhouse Spit: side-on moorings on the River Bure, opposite the Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail. There is no access to land, rubbish or water facilities from these moorings.
Salhouse Broad is halfway between Wroxham and Horning, so pick up a canoe from us and paddle with abandon. Alternately, you can take the bus into Norwich. This is a beautiful city dripping with history and culture, and with ample shopping, drinking and dining opportunities.
