The Bull In The Thorn Campsite outside of Buxton in Derbyshire is a family friendly campsite that is ideally located for those who want to visit the Peak District National Park. Our campsite is only 6 miles from Buxton and is a great base for those who enjoy mountain biking, rambling and walking.
On site we have 15 acres of caravan and camping land with showers, toilets and taps. Larger groups are welcome and our campsite and barn prove ideal for accommodating Schools, Scout Groups and Cub Packs etc. We have 10 brand new electric caravan and camping hook-ups now available all year round.
Onsite is our pub which is popular with both residents and non residents of the campsite. It serves tasty food and a range of ales, wines and spirits.
This is an excellent camping site and is located within 20 minutes walking distance of the lovely town of Buxton, with its many shops, theatre, cracking pavilion and impressive gardens. There is a wealth of places to eat and drink. It’s also worth visiting Poole’s Cavern and Solomon’s Temple, both with in close walking distance of the site. The Peak District offers more than just outdoor activities however, with cultural and historic sites as diverse as Chatsworth, Alton Towers, Buxton Opera house, National Tram Museum, Richard Arkwright’s Mills within the Derwent Valley World Heritage site, Gulliver’s Kingdom, a variety of caves and caverns, stately homes and castles, to name a few.
