Tresseck Campsite is nestled next on the banks of the River Wye, in the beautiful Herefordshire village of Hoarwithy. We offer back to basics camping that is perfect for those who are looking for a wonderful, get away from it all break.
Our campsite is set on an old river meadow, providing guests with plenty of space to pitch their tent. We don’t have set pitches, so you are welcome to choose your desired spot, be it under a tree, close to the river or in the middle of the meadow. We really are the perfect break for those who are looking for:
Peace and tranquillity next to one of the UK’s most beautiful rivers.
A base from which to explore Herefordshire’s unspoilt countryside.
A first-time camping experience with the family.
A spot of fishing.
The perfect place to land & launch your canoe.
Camp around a real campfire.
A cost-effective ‘get-away’ to the country.
We are a camping park for real campers. We have cold running water available & portaloos, however you will need to provide your own entertainment! Our favourite thing to do is to enjoy a traditional open campfire, enjoy a BBQ and have fun with friends and family. The campsite is also ideal for schools, Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, Guides and Duke of Edinburgh camps. We respectfully ask that any noise or disturbance after 11pm is kept to an absolute minimum, for the sake of fellow campers, their families and our surrounding villagers. If cooking over an open stove is not your thing, the New Harp Inn is just 200m away! Serving excellent food from 12 noon – 3pm and 6pm – 10pm, going hungry won’t be a problem.
Hoarwithy village is located midway between the market town of Ross-on-Wye in the south and the city of Hereford in the north. The site is an excellent stop-off point for canoeists in need of a place to camp. If a leisurely paddle for around half a day is more your scene, then either put your canoe in at Fownhope and disembark at the campsite, or launch at the site and climb out at Ross-on-Wye. What better way to spend a day than lazily paddling down the truly beautiful River Wye, enjoying its abundance of wildlife?
