Description

Bellingham Brown Rigg Camping and Caravanning Club is a peaceful award-winning touring site with high-quality facilities, situated in a privileged location in the beautiful North Tyne valley within easy reach of the best of Northumberland. We are a Camping and Caravanning Club site and accept non-members. We have Visit England 5 star and AA 5 pennant ratings.

There are 70 pitches available on site for tents, tourers and motorhomes and 4 glamping pods. All guests have access to an indoor campers kitchen as well as a games room and drying room.

From the site, you can stroll to busy Bellingham village and the spectacular waterfall of Hareshaw Linn, stride out along the Pennine Way or try climbing the local crags. This land bears vivid reminders of its past; and none more spectacular than Hadrian’s Wall, a short drive from the site. The historic houses of Cragside and Wallington are nearby, while Alnwick, the Simonside Hills and the castles and coastline of Northumberland make wonderful day trips.

Try fishing for salmon on the North Tyne, canoeing, playing golf, or exploring historic Hexham. The adventurous will enjoy the challenging mountain biking in Kielder Forest and Go-Ape! at Matfen, while Kielder Water with its watersports, shoreline walks, art and cycle trails, is wonderful for families. Try to spot one of the nesting ospreys in the forest and, after sunset, enjoy the dark skies from the Kielder Observatory.

Take afternoon tea at Carriages Tea Room near the Bellingham Heritage Centre or enjoy a drink or meal at the dog-friendly Riverdale Hall Hotel, a 10-minute walk from the site. Alternatively, you can take a bus direct from the site entrance to Hexham, with connections to Hadrian’s Wall and Newcastle.

We offer several ‘package’ stays entailing transport to local sites of interest and also special events on-site (call the site).

If you want an easier camping experience, try ‘glamping’ and hire a Camping Pod on the site. Our shop stock includes fresh, local produce from the Northumberland Sausage Company and Tarset Valley Marmalade.
