The Beeches Caravan Park

Gilcrux, Cockermouth, Cumbria

The Beeches Caravan Park is a small, quiet park in the peaceful village of Gilcrux, 5 miles north of Cockermouth, Cumbria. Luxury static caravans are available for hire on a weekly basis or for short breaks.

The caravan park is open all year round.

There is a shop/Post Office, laundry room and large children’s play area on the caravan site.

The caravans are spaciously set out in attractive landscaped grounds with car parking by each caravan. A 5mph speed limit is in operation around the park.

The caravans are fully equipped, all with excellent standards. Facilities include: toilet, shower, full kitchen (with fridge, gas cooker, microwave, crockery & cutlery, pots & pans), TV, continental quilts and pillows. All you need to bring are sheets, pillowcases, quilt covers and towels.

All the caravans are 6 berth and have 2 bedrooms - one double and one twin - with a pull-out double bed in the lounge area. There is parking for one car next to each caravan.

Gas in included in the price: electricity is obtained by £1 coin meter.

We have two grades of caravan - Silver and Gold. The main difference between the grades is the age of the caravan. The Gold grade caravans are newer and have double glazing and either gas central heating or electric panel heaters. The gold grade caravans can also be used in the winter.

Superb food and drink are available at The Masons' Arms nearby. They also offer take aways.

In the village is a trout farm, riding school, and numerous walks are possible in the area.

The caravan park has fantastic views over the Solway Firth with spectacular sunsets. It is an ideal position for visiting the northern lakes including Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Borrowdale and Keswick and also the quieter western lakes, Ennerdale, Loweswater, Crummock and Buttermere.
