Middle Ruckham is a few miles from the market town of Tiverton and is nestled in a stunning part of Mid Devon, in a secluded valley. This small working eco-farm is set amid 48 acres of broadleaved woodland and wildflower meadows, perfect for those who are looking for a restful break away.
We have a couple of bell tents or a beautiful Mongolian yurt to choose from, as well as plenty of space for your own tent should you prefer. Camp fires, compost toilets and a wood-fired bath make Middle Ruckham an ideal site for small camps and gatherings or large family groups, as well as individual retreats. Fresh organic produce is available whilst the local pub is a short walk away.
In addition to holiday breaks, we also are a retreat centre for horses and their owners. isperse the stresses of everyday life and treat yourself and your horse to a well-earned break here at Middle Ruckham. Get back to nature and enjoy the simple pleasures of life, immersed in beautiful natural surroundings. Chill out in our lovely Mongolian yurt, tipi or bell tent whilst your horse enjoys the freedom of a natural environment, grazing peacefully in the adjacent meadow. A variety of healing treatments are on offer for your horse, whilst you take the opportunity to have a yoga or massage session or explore the local trails. Facilities include a camp kitchen, compost toilets and a wood-fired bath, and fresh organic produce is available. The local pub is a short walk away.
Middle Ruckham eco farm is an Organic holding registered with the Soil Association, supplying a large variety of fresh salad leaves and herbs to local restaurants and markets. We grow medicinal plants for animal healing and have a large garden, giving us and our visitors a variety of vegetables and soft fruit. Our bees provide honey and beeswax for skincare products.
Imagine gently sloping meadows full of wildflowers, where native breeds of sheep, cattle and horses graze. Amble through the bluebell woods or relax in the apple orchard surrounded by the scent of the blossom and the hum of the honeybees. Join in the hay making, or have a picnic by the stream, dipping your toes into the cool, clear water on a hot summer's day whilst enjoying strawberries freshly picked from the garden. The woodland, fields and streams provide a natural playground for kids, whilst sun-soaked wildflower meadows are a continual source of inspiration for all.
