Sunnyside Lodges in Sanquhar, Dumfrieshire in Dumfries & Galloway, offers luxurious glamping accommodation in a glorious location. The campsite enjoys spectacular views of the Nith Valley, making us a truly idyllic holiday destination.
Our luxurious lodges are perfect for a tranquil and relaxing break away. The timber lined lodges offer all the fun of camping without the downside of soaking wet tents or the difficulties of lighting a fire. All the lodges sleep up to 4 people in 2 double beds which convert from daytime seating. Bedding and towels are provided. Each has a bathroom with a walk in shower, wash hand basin and a toilet. Each lodge has as well equipped kitchenette area with hob, toaster, microwave and fridge.
All the lodges benefit from having fitted 5 seater hot tubs. There is also a charcoal BBQ which can be hired for £15 including charcoal.
The nearby ancient Royal Burgh of Sanquhar offers a range of shops and bars as well as a glimpse into Scotland’s past. The former mining town still boasts its old Tollbooth, once the centre of municipal life and the jail, now a museum. Across the road stand A’ the Airts, the arts centre of the Nith Valley and home to the famous Sanquhar knitting pattern once favoured by Prince Charles. On the southern outskirts stand the remains of the medieval castle with its links to William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.
Just outside the town is the Crawick Multiverse, a “cosmic artland” born out of a former open cast coalmine site, the brainchild of Charles Jencks, the world famous American landscape designer who lives a few miles away.
