Ace Hideaways

Forres, Morayshire, The Highlands

Ace Hideaways is a family friendly site with both camping and glamping situated just outside of Forres in the lovely county of Morayshire. We are well placed for those wishing to explore The Highlands further. Once you're settled in you might like to think about trying a few activities during your stay.

Our hand built shepherd's hut nestles back into the ancient woodland, in its own sheltered spot. Perfect for couples who like a little more comfort with their camping, the hut is tucked into its own private clearing in the woodland. The hut has a proper full size double bed and comfy, real pocket sprung mattress, cosy log burning stove (with enough space on top to keep your kettle warm!), table and chairs, gas ring camping stove and cooking equipment, cool box and of course a lovely setting.

The three bell tents in the woods make great spaces for groups of campers. Each circular tent is a whopping 6m in diameter and sits on its own sturdy platform in its own clearing in the woods. The bell tents offer the ultimate in flexibility a family can easily sleep together in spacious comfort or for a school or activity group they can house a larger group of up to 8 adults or 10 people if some of the party are children. Please note that a minimum price equivalent to the rate for four adults is charged when booking a bell tent and once booked it's exclusively yours for your stay whether or not you've filled the maximum space. The bell tents are put up ready for your arrival. One tent has huge colourful bean bags big enough for sleeping on (great fun for children we've tested them and so have our kids!) and the others have thick and comfortable large foam mattresses. So you just need a sleeping bag, which you can hire from us in advance when booking your stay if you prefer not to bring your own.

Choose a spot to pitch your tent among the trees. Each pitch can accommodate one tent and up to five people. We usually only have five pitch spots available to book, but if we're fully booked online or your group is slightly larger than five we may sometimes be able to help so please do give us a call or drop us an email.

Activities onsite include:

Salmon fishing.
Disc golf.
White water rafting.
Canoe & kayak.
River tube & cliff jump.
Team building.

Ace sits in the beautiful Findhorn Valley in North East Scotland. The valley is known for its spectacular gorge and woodland scenery. Outside the valley the countryside is typified by a mosaic of farms and trees which make a living for many of those who live here. We are only about 2 miles from Logie Steading Visitor Centre and about 12 miles from the Moray coastline with its vast sandy beaches and fishing villages.
