Beardown Farm stands as a traditional hill farm amidst Dartmoor's expansive high moors, home to our herds of beef cattle and sheep across 1,100 acres of land cradled by the Cowsic and West Dart rivers.

We invite you to embrace a genuine wild camping adventure on our farm, where the simplicity of nature is paramount, offering just an outdoor tap and fire pits for a truly rustic experience, without the amenities of toilets, showers, electricity, or WiFi.

Our farm hosts two primary camping sites for those seeking to immerse themselves in the wilderness: a riverside site in a protected valley along the Cowsic river and a more even terrain adjacent to the Devonport Leat. Both sites welcome individual campers or groups under prior reservation.

For those looking for a slightly tamer version of camping, our camping pod provides a cosy alternative.

Wild Camping Sites:

Riverside Campsite: A natural setting that encompasses the Cowsic river, offering a peaceful retreat. This site features communal fire pits and is somewhat protected from the elements, though its proximity to water means it can get boggy and insects are common in warmer months. Caution is advised near the river, especially for families with children. Exclusive booking is available.

Leat Campsite: Positioned near the Devonport Leat, this site offers shelter from the wind and stunning views of Dartmoor. It's accessible by vehicle and ideal for larger groups, including educational trips and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. This site can also be exclusively booked.

Facilities:

• Drinking water is accessible from an outdoor tap.
• Firewood can be purchased.
• A composting toilet is available for hire upon request.
• No other facilities are provided.

Camping Pod: Accommodating up to four guests, our pod is situated in a tree-lined clearing, shielded from Dartmoor's challenging climate. It features electricity, heating, a double bed, sofa bed, essential bathroom amenities including a flushing toilet and hot shower and an outdoor fire pit with a grill, picnic table and covered seating area, blending comfort with the allure of outdoor living.
