Moorhouse is a small family run site at Holford, approximately 10 miles west of Bridgwater in Somerset, situated at the foot of the picturesque Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Moorhouse is an ideal site for those wishing to simply enjoy a quiet break in the countryside or explore the area. Dogs (with responsible owners) are welcome.
Moorhouse Farm is situated just off the A39 between Bridgwater and Minehead, in a quiet but accessible location. There are pubs within walking distance at Holford and Kilve. Kilve also has a post office and store. More shops, pubs, restaurants and garages can be found a short drive away at Stogursey, Nether Stowey, Keenthorne and West Quantoxhead.
Large, level well drained pitches, for both caravans and tents. Heated toilet and shower block. Laundry room. Picnic area. Dedicated camping field for tents with its own toilet block and washing up facilities. Some pitches with electric hook up. We welcome families, but please note we do not have any children's play apparatus on site, however we do have a large open play area.
The Quantock Hills are marvellous for walking, mountain biking and horse riding, with a huge network of footpaths, tracks and bridleways. You will see many species of animals, birds, flowers, herds of Quantock Ponies and the famous Quantock red deer. There are spectacular views over the Bristol Channel to Wales, Exmoor to the west and the Blackdown Hills and the Vale of Taunton to the south.
There are local beaches a short distance from the site at Kilve, Lilstock and Dunster. Dunster Castle, Minehead, Exmoor, the West Somerset Steam Railway, Cheddar Gorge, the Mendip Hills and Weston-super-Mare are all within easy reach. The county town of Taunton is half an hour away.
