Pentre Bach Bunkhouse Snowdonia in Waunfawr, Caernarfon in Gwynedd, offers wonderful camping and self catering facilities in a beautiful part of the country. We are located in the perfect position to enjoy a range of outdoor activities because we are only 5 minutes from Mount Snowdon.
We are ideally situated for most outdoor activities. Whether you wish to cycle, ramble, rock climb or kayak it’s all close on hand.
We converted our stone barn in 2001 to provide self catering accommodation for outdoor enthusiasts into an alpine style bunkhouse and with a “Real Ale” pub only a 10 minute walk from the bunkhouse what more could you wish for? The bunkhouse is split over two floors; the ground floor has a cooking area (with gas burners, microwaves, fridge and freezer, all pots/pans cutlery provided), seating and a dining area.
The second floor is used for sleeping and can accommodate up to 16 on mattresses on five sleeping platforms 2(5)s 1(4) and 2 (1)s. Bed linen and pillow case provided you just need your sleeping bag. Toilets with washing facilities, showers and a drying room are provided in separate blocks across the yard.
Bikes can be stored securely under a shelter next to the bunkhouse plus we are happy to provide water for bike cleaning.
Our superb campsite is suited to anyone who enjoys the peace & quiet of the countryside. Only tents are allowed, no caravans or trailer tents. Dogs are welcome at no extra cost provided they are kept under control. Please mention when booking, failure to do so may result in being refused due to numbers.The camp site is set back from the main road with access via a 200 metre drive and is sited in approximately 1 acre next to the main house. Toilets, washing facilities with hot water and showers are shared with the camping barn in a separate area.
There are a range of activities to enjoy while staying with us, including our adventure activities area. Guests can also enjoy a host of activities in the local area: gorge scrambling, coasteering and sea level traversing. There are also many places to visit, such as Caernarfon. The town has a number of good places from small friendly cafes to restaurants. Try the historic The Black Boy Inn provides some lovely food or The WAL restaurant, the Harbour / Table Table and the Galeri both down by the Victoria Dock. A number of interesting exhibits can be found in the castle and what a view of the Menai Straits and the old town can be seen from its ramparts.
