Situated on the border of Somerset and Dorset, Sunny Hill Campsite is an independent camping haven. This rural Somerset campsite may seem like it's in the middle of nowhere, yet it's conveniently located within easy reach of all the nearby attractions.
Camping: Three electrical hookup spots are available on hard standing pitches and two on grass pitches with a pre-payment system in place.
Yurts & Bell Tents: Whether you're seeking year-round comfort in our 18ft fully insulated yurt, which comfortably sleeps six, or you prefer our fully equipped summer bell tents and yurts designed for glamping enthusiasts, we have something to cater to everyone's preferences.
Shepherd's Hut: Our charming shepherd's hut offers a delightful experience with its Belfast sink, spacious king-size bunk bed, two single beds and comes with a log-fuelled hot tub. Complete with an undercounter fridge, electric heater, and a fantastic view, you can unwind on the hillside, almost forgetting how close you are to the A303, while being perfectly situated to explore the beautiful regions of Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire. Sorry, no pets or infants in the Shepherd's Hut.
Fire pits are available on site, we can provide logs and fire lighters for £10, this can be purchased at our onsite shop.
Onsite we have The Jolly Farmer pop up bar/café. The Café will be open serving breakfasts 10 am -1 pm daily in high season, Saturday and Sunday in low season. The Bar will open Friday 4-11 pm in February and March. It will then be open Friday and Saturday 4-11 pm April to August. There is an open mic night on the last Thursday of every month.
Locally there are several great places to fish, including carp fishing, coarse fishing and catfish fishing. Shearwater Lakes, Todbur Manor, Coking Farm and Higher Farm are just a few fishing spots a 30-minute drive from us. Wincanton Racecourse is only a 10-minute drive away and for great days out you can visit Glastonbury, Longleat and Stonehenge, all within a 45-minute drive away. Further attractions to visit include:
