Orchard Organic Farm is a busy organic farm located in the beautiful South Devon countryside. The farm specialises in producing organic eggs and organic apples and also offers camping and glamping facilities for visitors.
Camping
Following the popularity of our glamping pods and several requests for camping, we have added six camping pitches. We have aimed to provide peaceful, affordable and family-friendly camping spaces. After transplanting a few apple trees, we believe we have created a unique, small site where guests can enjoy their stay in a tranquil setting. The shared facilities available for campers include three proper toilets and showers with heating, a washing-up area, a covered cooking area with a microwave, toaster and kettle, as well as a shared fridge. Picnic benches with parasols and a BBQ area are also provided. However, there are no chemical toilet facilities on-site.
Glamping
The Hen’s Dens are our timber tent camping/glamping pods. These structures were originally our chicken sheds, built at the start of our organic laying hens enterprise. As our business expanded, the sheds became redundant, and a few years ago, we had the idea to repurpose them into Timber Tents. With the support of the planning authority, we converted them into comfortable glamping spaces. The Dens are carefully situated in a quiet spot among our cob nut trees and beside an orchard of organic dessert apple trees.
Each Den has its own private, lockable bathroom and welfare room, complete with a shower, toilet and washbasin. Guests have exclusive access to their own bathroom for the duration of their stay, which is key-locked, allowing them to store their personal washing and cooking gear securely without the hassle of carrying items back and forth. Each of the three Dens is designed to offer a spacious and flexible area measuring approximately 6m x 3m. They are insulated and heated with an electric oil-filled radiator and include lighting, an electric socket with a USB charging point, a six-seater picnic bench and double-glazed windows and doors with blinds or curtains. The secure welfare room is provided exclusively for each guest's stay, ensuring privacy and convenience.
