Enjoy a night under canvas on the peaceful banks of Gunwade Lake. Our two campsites, The Glade and Lakeview, are ideal for families and offer visitors the choice of a pitch-only booking or bell tent hire. Based in the stunning setting of Ferry Meadows Country Park in Peterborough, we are the perfect place to stay for an unforgettable holiday. We are only 4 miles from the city centre and a wonderful base for visiting a range of attractions in Cambridgeshire.
Both of our campsites are perfectly located for enjoying the fantastic activities available at Nene Outdoors Watersports and Activity Centre, the calendar of events happening in Ferry Meadows or the beautiful countryside in the wider Nene Park, making us perfect for the whole family. The site is also close to Lakeside Kitchen and Bar which offers a great menu with delicious dishes to tuck into after a day on the water. The Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre and Shop offers a brilliant array of locally sourced produce and gifts from a range of trusted suppliers in the area.
To make your stay extra special, campers can claim a 10% discount on watersports activities at Nene Outdoors and purchases made at the Visitor Centre Shop, Lakeside Kitchen and Bar and Ferry Meadows Café.
The Glade: Our pitch only site for campers boasts breathtaking views and scenic sunsets over Gunwade Lake. The Glade is also available for private hire for schools or small gatherings. In total we have space for up to 10 tents, ensuring you receive the utmost peace and relaxation while staying with us.
Lakeview: Nestled on the edge of Gunwade Lake, you can enjoy that touch of luxury in our bell tent campsite. The site enjoys spectacular views across the water and is situated away from the rest of the park. In total, we have 8 bell tents available, with each sleeping up to 6 people. The tents are set on beautiful wooden decking platforms and are simply furnished with floor mats and LED lighting. Exclusive private hire of our Lakeside campsite is available for family gatherings and celebrations.
Campsite facilities include:
Access to a fixed BBQ stand on each campsite which is shared with other campers.
Access to the toilet and shower facilities at Nene Outdoors Watersports and Activity Centre.
Access to a cold water tap for drinking and cooking on the campsite.
Car parking is available in the main visitor car park adjacent to Nene Outdoors Watersports and Activity Centre. Parking for one car is included within your campsite booking fee.
Both campsites are dog-friendly.
Firebowls are available to hire, perfect for enjoying your own fire closer to your pitch. Wood log kindling and British charcoal are also available to purchase.
A secure mobile phone charging station is situated in our reception area during opening hours.
While staying with us you can venture into the city centre. From historical attractions to lovely country walks, there is something for everyone. Enjoy the splendour of the 900-year-old Norman cathedral or go back in time at Peterborough Museum. Further attractions to see include:
