Pennine Lodge in the village of St John's Chapel is a small and secluded caravan campsite nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our campsite near Bishop Auckland in Durham is ideal for an idyllic holiday.
Our charming campsite is ideal for an authentic rural experience in a glorious countryside setting. We are surrounded by stunning views and you will also see a small herd of Huacaya Alpacas dotted around the place. Onsite we also keep free-range hens and six Aylesbury ducks; eggs are available to purchase daily. We have four 10 amp electric points, chemical waste disposal facilities and an ablutions block.
You enjoy a lovely glamping experience in our wooden glamping pod. Enjoying spectacular views, the pod comes with private decking and a small BBQ. Inside the pod, there is a double bed, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a TV.
You are welcome to fish on our stretch of the River Wear provided you have a rod licence. The river is one of the best sea trout rivers in England.
Please note that we are a Caravan and Camping Club Site and we only accept its members for camping/touring.
