Headswood on The Wall is a charming romantic retreat set in a stunning rural location along the renowned Hadrian’s Wall. This idyllic getaway offers breathtaking views and direct access to walking routes on Hadrian’s Walk, making it a perfect escape for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
Upon entering through the enclosed garden, you’ll find a delightful lodge pod, offering a luxurious glamping experience for couples. Inside, the cosy sleeping area with a comfortable double bed is situated at the rear of the pod, while the lounge area with a TV provides a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. There’s also a dining table for intimate meals and a well-equipped kitchen area with an electric single-ring hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave. A spacious shower room with a shower and WC completes the interior comforts.
Outside, the private decked area is furnished with seating, where you can soak in the magnificent countryside views along Hadrian’s Walk or take a dip in the hot tub, available for an additional charge of £100, payable upon arrival. The deck is ideal for al fresco dining, enjoying a glass of wine, or savouring a local ale. Wildlife enthusiasts may be delighted by sightings of deer, red squirrels, barn owls, hares, rabbits, red kites and various garden birds. Ample off-road parking is available, making it easy to enjoy this secluded, scenic retreat.
Just a short drive from the historic market town of Brampton and within easy reach of Carlisle, with its excellent shopping and leisure options, this spot is ideal for both relaxation and exploration. Nearby attractions include Talkin Tarn Country Park, where visitors can enjoy canoeing and open-water swimming, and the ancient woodland of Gelt Woods, home to the River Gelt. Discover the fascinating Roman ruins at Housesteads, Birdoswald and Vindolanda, or venture out to the scenic Northern Lakes, Eden Valley and the rugged Scottish Borders.
