Meelmore Lodge Campsite is just a short walk from the higher Mournes. It is located within the Co Down village of Bryansford. This is only 6 miles from the town of Newcastle.
The main campsite consists of over two acres of land and we welcome tents only (Sorry, no space for Caravans, Motorhomes or Campervans). There is no electric hook up. You can park your car on the grass pitch next to your tent and enjoy a campfire in one of our hireable Fire Pits. Fire logs are available for purchase on-site. A lit walkway guides you from your tent to the amenity block, where toilets and showers are accessible all night, included in your camping fee. Cold drinking water is available at several points around the site, and the amenity block features a sink with hot and cold water for dishwashing.
Our bistro is open every Saturday and Sunday, offering a variety of items from tea and coffee, scones, and tray bakes to soup, sandwiches, cooked breakfasts, burgers, and chips. We can cater for groups of up to 30 people. Additionally, we are open daily during the Christmas, Easter, and Summer holidays.
Meelmore Lodge is ideally situated on the foothills of Slieve Meelmore, which forms part of the Mourne Mountains in south Down. The facilities at Meelmore Lodge are perfect for those interested in walking in the Mournes, both professionals and amateurs alike.
