Morag the Shepherd Hut is set in a rural location, yet just a five-minute drive from the historic university and golf town of St Andrews. Situated in the garden next to the B&B farmhouse, it offers stunning panoramic views and a welcoming, cosy atmosphere - your perfect compact home away from home.
Inside the hut, you'll find a comfortable double mattress with a memory foam topper on a raised platform, allowing you to wake up to beautiful views. The well-equipped mini kitchen includes a fridge, hob and microwave, making it easy to prepare a light meal, breakfast, or perhaps chill a bottle of prosecco to enjoy outside. A sofa and foldaway table add to the living space, while storage for luggage is neatly tucked under the bed.
Outside, a decking area has been added so you can fully appreciate the surrounding landscape. This space includes a table and seating area, ideal for relaxing or dining outdoors. At ground level, there's an additional seating area with a chiminea, where you can unwind beside the warmth of a fire, logs are provided. A disposable barbecue stand is also available for outdoor cooking.
For breakfast, a selection of items is left in the hut for you to enjoy at your own pace, including orange juice, milk, yogurt, butter and jam. In addition, fresh fruit salad, baked pastries and a choice of bacon, sausage, veggie or vegan sausages, or egg sandwiches can be prepared in the farmhouse kitchen and delivered to the hut at a time that suits you.
We are very fortunate as well to have our own in-house chocolatier. Maleys Chocolates was founded by Michael, also known as Mr Choc, in Falkirk in 2013. He continues to run a pop-up shop there and regularly attends markets and events across Scotland. During your stay with us, for entertainment, you’ll have the chance to book a chocolate-making class. It’s a fun and delicious experience where you can learn a bit about the history of chocolate from Mike himself and create your own handmade treats. Please see our website for details.
There is so much to see and do in the area, including:
St Andrews Castle.
St Andrews Cathedral.
Wardlaw Museum.
