Kilmory, Isle of Arran

Description

Runach Arainn is a small luxury glamping site just outside the village of Kilmory on the beautiful Isle of Arran and is an ideal base for a relaxing short break or a longer stay.

Located just 15 minutes walk from a beautiful sandy beach and 10 minutes walk from the local pub, restaurant and shop, we are a peaceful site, with just three yurts set around an orchard and wild flower meadow, each having a private bathroom and full self-catering facilities.

All our yurts have the following features:

Luxury double bed plus two futons for other guests.
Fully equipped with all you will need (towels, bedding and crockery) - just bring your clothes!
Wood burning stove/cooker (including an oven) for heat and cooking.
Insulated for year round comfort.
Private bathroom with shower (including a luxury composting toilet).
Outdoor fire pit with cooking utensils and picnic bench.
Solar powered lighting.
Shared kitchen and your own fridge.
A peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature.

Our site is set in a small orchard located near to the Church just outside the hamlet of Kilmory. Along with the three yurts, the orchard contains the bathroom block which houses private bathrooms for each and a shared kitchen (sink, fridges for each yurt, microwave and kettle). Parking for the site is a couple of minutes walk away and no cars are allowed on site making it safe for kids to run and play.

The Isle of Arran is about 20 miles long and 10 miles wide and sits in the Firth of Clyde. The 10 mile ferry crossing from Ardrossan takes 50 minutes - so we are less than 2 hours from Glasgow. For such a small island Arran contains a wide variety of sceneries and landscapes. To the North is the mountainous Goat Fell range for stunning scenery and challenging walks. If you don't fancy the high level walks there are many beautiful valley walks like Glen Rosa or more wooded walks in the South of the island like Glenashdale Falls and Eas Mor (which also has a great café).

There are wonderful beaches all around the island including the stunning sandy Torrylinn beach in the South only 15 minutes walk from site. Cycling is popular all around the island. Mountain bikers can make use of the forest tracks that criss-cross the island and adjoin our site, whilst road cyclists can enjoy the 60 mile circular route around the island's coast road. Arran also has castles, kayaking, horse riding, swimming pools, cafes and great shopping - so something for everyone.
