Description

Nestled near the tip of the Southern Machars and opposite a single track lane which leads to 3 unspoilt beaches, St Median's Golf Course & Gavin Maxwell's memorial otter that offers fantastic views across the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man and beyond; here you will find our family-run Caravan Park & Self Catering Cottage at Knock School, Monreith.

Once the Village School provided by The Maxwell Family of Monreith Estate, our Caravan Park & Self Catering Cottage has been transformed over three generations into a peaceful and relaxing place to unwind.

We have 5 Grass and 5 Hardstanding pitches for Motorhomes & Caravans which are well spread around the outside of the park and a small separate area for tents.

As a family-run caravan park, great care and attention is taken in keeping the property clean and tidy.
Whilst resting in your caravan, distant sea views and sunsets may be enjoyed over Luce Bay, beyond our colourful garden.

There are no static caravans on the site.

Our Self Catering Cottage offers accommodation for 3 persons.

Relax and Rest awhile in our garden at Knock School, where time stands still or discover this forgotten area of South West Scotland.
Whilst The Machars benefits from the warmth of the Gulf Stream, there are a host of various Gardens to visit in the area including the Royal Botanical Gardens at Logan.

A short Drive is Wigtown, Scotland's Book Town; it attracts many visitors including famous authors to its annual Book Festival. Along the river from Wigtown you will find the 200-year-old Lowlands Whisky Distillery worthy of a visit and tipple.

Located near Knock is the Whithorn Way; The Whithorn Way is a newly mapped 143 mile walking and cycling route, which follows much of the westerly pilgrimage route to Whithorn, travelled by pilgrims for well over 1000 years - ideal for a peaceful countryside walk or cycle.

From Gardens, beaches, Golf to Gin & Whisky Distilleries - The Machars has something for everyone's interests.
