Tregonning Burrows Glamping

Balwest, Helston, Cornwall

Description

Located in the charming hamlet of Balwest in West Cornwall, Tregonning Burrows is a small but luxurious glamping site spread over 4 acres of lush pasture land. With just 4 pods, the site offers a peaceful retreat, nestled at the foot of the stunning Tregonning Hill, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a designated World Heritage Site. The pods overlook the rich archaeological site of Godolphin Hill, which is part of the National Trust-owned Godolphin Estate.

The interior design of each pod at Tregonning Burrows has been skillfully crafted by Claire, who has carefully selected luxurious fabrics and colors to reflect the local historic landscape. The pods offer ample space and accessibility, with a comfortable king-size bed and a large sofa that can easily be converted into another king-size bed. You can lie in bed and admire the stunning Cornish sky through the Velux window above.

The pods come with a welcome pack including Cornish loose-leaf tea, coffee, milk, rapeseed oil, and a delicious Cornish Cream Tea featuring home-baked scones, Cornish jam, and clotted cream. You can cook your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a fridge, 2-ring induction hob, combination oven, and Belfast sink, or enjoy a picnic on your own outdoor dining area.

Each pod has a hanging area for clothes and storage space underneath the king-size bed. The spacious wet room features a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside, you can relax on the decked area and enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea and countryside, stretching all the way to St. Michael's Mount, Penzance, and St. Ives Bay.

Tregonning Burrows prides itself on being fully accessible for wheelchairs, with level access from the decking to the pod and from the main living area to the wet room. The internal dimensions of each pod are 6.9 meters long and 3.1 meters wide, and the ramp access from your vehicle to the external decked area has a gentle gradient of no more than 1:12. There is also a full wheelchair turning circle in the main living area and the wet room, and the door width is 900mm.

There is plenty to see and do in the area, including:

Godolphin Estate (National Trust).
St Michael's Mount.
Polgoon Vineyard Tours.
Minack Theatre.
Praa Sands Beach.
