The 'Beacons Way' long distance footpath runs through Blaenau Woods and you can exercise your 'Right to Roam' over the adjacent common.
Campers are welcome to pitch their tents in our fields. There are toilets and mains water at the farmyard and we have a covered area with table tops and kitchen chairs, ideal for planning a walking route or excursion or eating your food in wet and wild weather. There is usually a secluded spot where campers can enjoy themselves in peace and solitude.

Pennal, Snowdonia National Park, PowysGwerniago Campsite is located in the heartland of Mid Wales, at the most southern point of the Snowdonia National Park. Gwerniago is a family run working farm run by a Welsh speaking family. The campsite is situated on the edge of Pennal village in the beautiful unspoilt Dyfi (Dovey) Valley.
Our new shower and toilet block facilities were opened in 2012. The block consists of four individual toilets, two male and two female and a fully accessible disabled shower and toilet room at the rear of the building. At the front of the building there are separate male and female shower facilities, providing two cubicles in each, with washbasin facilities. In the centre of the building there is a family room with bath and overhead shower, toilet and washbasin, which is particularly suitable for use with young children who need to be supervised. Situated at the side of the building is a small kitchen with a washing up sink, fridge and freezer and power points for charging phones etc. Outside, under cover, there are two sinks with hot water for washing dishes. The hot water is heated by solar panels, backed up by electricity. There is no extra charge for these facilities.

The site overlooks Penybont Race Course, which plays host to Penybont Races on the first Wednesday in August. This is one of the oldest trotting races in Wales and well worth attending. Llandrindod Trotting Races has also moved to the racecourse and this is held on August bank holiday.

All 55 of our campsite pitches are fully serviced (some sites call them "super pitches"). Each pitch has an electric hook-up, water tap, grey waste drain and in the Roundton and Camlad areas are provided with a TV aerial hook-up with lead (this plugs you into a booster system). The Meadow is better situated for natural TV reception.

There are a limited supply electric hook-up leads available for hire, this service is on a first come, first served basis. The deposit charged on these is £40 for the duration of the stay, there is no actual hire charge.
