The campsite is well situated for walking into Matlock, there are many spectacular views, cliff edges and a scary footpaths (off the main path, you don't have to take it) that has a one way system due to the drop. Take the Pic Tor route for an easier walk, still lovely views.

There are electric hook-ups available for around 9 pitches. The site is mainly used by small tents campers and is a good base for walking or climbing in the area. The site is next to the local railway line, so there may be some noise.

The campsite is located behind The Wild Boar Inn. Turning off the main A54 and passing through the pub car park you enter a second car park (allocated for hard standing pitches) through which the camping field is accessed via a gate.

Our beef suckler herd graze on ancient "rig and furrow" parkland pasture, which has not been ploughed since the days of the horse plough. Newborn calves epitomize the peace and tranquility that awaits you.

Call at the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, 10 miles drive from the site, to find out all about him, and to see the Great Oak where he is said to have hidden, and then visit Nottingham to experience a most imaginative audio/visual exhibition called 'The Tales of Robin Hood'. You are involved in scenes including a horse ride and a rescue - the children love it.

There is space for up to 10 touring vans, and tents are also welcome. . Toilets and showers are available to all caravanners and campers (although unfortunately these are not wheelchair accessible). The site is kept secure by key card access. We regret that pets are not permitted.

At the right time of year there is also an edible garden including marigolds, mint, gooseberries and damson trees, meaning you won’t have to go far for that quick snack!

Pitches are flat, all weather hardstandings with a choice of grass pitches during the main season. All pitches have 16 amp electric hook-up. Clean, modern facilities are contained within a well equipped, heated building which includes a disabled suite. Showers are roomy and there’s no extra charge for showers or hot water. Sheltered washing up sinks are adjacent to the facilities building. You can buy gas from reception and find out about all the things to do and see at our tourist information kiosk.

Our onsite facilities include men and ladies shower blocks, hairdryers and shaving points which are all available to use and included in the service charge. We have 2 coin operated washing machines, tumble driers and kitchen sinks to wash dishes or hand wash clothes. There is also a games room with pool tables and TV lounge. All of our facilities are fully accessible for wheelchairs. We also have a disabled wet room and a separate disabled toilet and can recommend pitches closer to facilities for even better access.

The campsite is situated in the ideal location for you to enjoy the views of the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside as well as visit many of its local attractions.
The popular campsite is set out in three adjoining, flat level fields: One field is for families, another field is for adults only and the third is a rally field. The family field offers a games area with plenty of room for ball games, a children’s play area and a small animal area, which is home to rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. The facilities on offer include: two toilet blocks, showers, and hot and cold water to all basins. Other facilities include a laundry, drying room and an information kiosk.

Each yurt has its own Weber BBQ, hard standing for fire pit hire, decked area with seating, wooden bench on the grassed area.

All of our Tipis are 21 feet in diameter and furnished to a high standard with authentic Native American dream catchers and kites. Each one is large enough to sleep over six adults and supplied with three double futons, bedside cabinets, a gas stove, plates and cutlery, lanterns, a fire pit and BBQ. Bedding and towels are available for a small charge and we have on site showers, toilets with baby changing facilities and washing up facilities. We also have a cafe that serves hot and cold meals and drinks.

The site welcomes everybody including pets. There are a few facilities onsite including a play area and fishing. There are 20 tent pitches and 10 available for touring caravans.
This area is a beautiful place to stay and you are close to lots of amenities and attractions. This is the ideal location for walkers and cyclists and for exploring the sites of Shropshire such as Stokesay Castle, the Ironbridge Gorge Museums and Severn Valley Railway.
